POP CULTURE SILLINESS
FROM SCOTT & KRISTIN,
EVERY WEDNESDAY*

The SWISH EDITION is the long-running comedy and pop culture podcast, launched in 2010 by Dale Blades & Scott Wallis. Dale recently retired, but Scott is still behind the mic in Las Vegas, joined by his lifelong best friend Kristin Talastas, who took over co-hosting duties from her home base just outside of Washington, DC.

The weekly audio AND video show features news and sometimes-snarky commentary on the entertainment industry, travel (with an emphasis on Sin City and our nation's capital, of course), silly marketing trends, crazy celebrities, crazier criminals, and so much more.

The podcast has reached 144 countries around the globe, featured hundreds of guests from all walks of life, and, once upon a time, reached the top 2% on Apple Podcasts' comedy list.

And as of April 2025, y'all can WATCH Kristin & Scott create the podcast in HD video on YouTube!

If you don't want to watch, you can stream, download, and/or subscribe to the audio version of the show on most popular podcast distribution apps and sites, such as Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts, Audible, YouTube Music, and Podbean. Alternatively, every episode produced since 2018 is available right here at swishedition.com.

* Fresh new episodes drop every Wednesday, from early-September clear through to the end of June. We take July & August off so we can pretend we're still kids.

THE AUDIO EPISODES ARE ALWAYS RIGHT HERE

APRIL 23, 2025  -  EPISODE 457  -  "IF WE WEREN'T ALL CRAZY WE WOULD GO INSANE"

For April 23, Kristin and Scott bring you, “If We Weren’t All Crazy We Would Go Insane.” That’s the title of Episode 457 (thank you, Jimmy Buffett)…and isn’t that apropos of this crazy/insane world we live in right now?

Anyway, this week we’re talking about Scott’s broken nose; the Whitney Houston slot machine that spit out $1.5 million bucks; Jon Hamm’s new “Your Friends and Neighbors” series on AppleTV+; a young girl attacks airline passengers with a fork; a so-called service dog attacks another passenger in-flight (on a different plane); “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is going to be a movie soon; the Goodyear Blimp and 61,467 fans visit Las Vegas for WWE’s WrestleMania 41; “Clueless” is getting another TV series reboot; the teen slasher movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is coming back, too; KFC launches fried chicken flavored toothpaste, of all things; McDonald’s is bringing back the popular Snack Warp SOMETIME before September ends; someone did a scientific test—it’s true, the 5-second rule isn’t a thing; today is the 20th anniversary of YouTube; and, Kristin and Scott don’t agree on much of anything. All of that, and more pop culture silliness for the week that was, live on tape from Las Vegas and Washington, DC.

Listen to the podcast on all the leading apps and sites…and/or WATCH us make the show on the Swish Edition YouTube page. Every Wednesday. Rain or shine.

ABOUT SCOTT & KRISTIN

Scott Wallis and Kristin Talastas have been best friends since way back in 1987, when they first met in Williamsburg, Virginia. They’ve been inseparable ever since—through high school, college, and all of life’s twists and turns.

Scott lived in and around Washington, D.C. for 24 years—including working in advance at the White House (albeit not for the current administration) and planning high-level events for one of the richest men on the planet (no, that that one). He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2018, where he lives with his husband Dale and their two rescue dogs. Once upon a time, Scott created an organic baby clothes brand, owned and operated an award-winning men's clothing store, published nine novels, and has been podcasting before podcasting was cool (and oversaturated). He loves to travel (especially to Palm Springs & Key West), collect pop art, lose more than he wins at the slots, and binge watch TV shows he's seen a dozen times.

Kristin has made Northern Virginia home since college, where she lives just outside Washington, DC, with her husband, Rob, and their young son. By day, she runs her own HR consulting firm, helping companies build great workplaces—but let’s be honest, her true passion is finding any excuse to be in her kitchen. She loves cooking (and eating!), tracking down the best food finds at Costco, and running around trying to keep up with her 7 year old.  When she’s not cooking up something delicious, you’ll find her cheering on the Washington Commanders, exploring local wineries, or soaking up the sun in the Outer Banks. She’s always up for a good meal, a great conversation, and, of course, a hilarious trip down memory lane with Scott.

WAIT! WHAT HAPPENED TO DALE?

Dude decided to retire himself from the show to pursue other projects. (Uh huh. So he says. We'll see.)

Dale Blades & Scott Wallis first met in 2009 and forged a fast friendship based on their mutual love of all-things audio. The former terrestrial radio hosts started podcasting before podcasting was even cool, experimenting with a few short-lived shows before the SWISH EDITION was created in October 2010. The guys moved from Washington, D.C. to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2017, but soon discovered that Nevada is where they feel most at home. There, they established roots—and their signature 'secret underground studio'—in the outskirts of Sin City, and they couldn't be happier being a quick drive away from the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Dale & Scott are still serial entrepreneurs, degenerate passionate gamblers, and avid travelers (they are super fans of Palm Springs, Key West, and sea cruises).

If you want to go back and listen to old-school-Dale episodes, work backwards starting with Episode 451.

PS: Dale says he will pop back into on the show every now and again...when he feels like it.
